The Best of Bond…James Bond
It was announced October 2nd that in anticipation of the 50th anniversary of the James Bond Franchise, a collection of digitally remastered music from the series will be released on a the compilation album Best of Bond…James Bond. Friday, October 5, will mark 50 years since the first Bond film, Dr. No, was released in 1962. Since beginning of this series, the films of the Bond franchise have been renowned not only for their visually captivating opening sequences, but also the impressive list of bands and musicians who have composed each production’s original score. The anthology features theme songs from all 22 Bond films, while the deluxe package comes with a bonus “50 Years-50 Tracks” double CD containing many famous Bond orchestra scores. Best of Bond… will be available for pre-order on October 5 — James Bond Day — and also coincides with the release of the original theme song that Grammy award-winning British singer Adele recently announced is set to premiere in Bond 23: Skyfall. Music historian Jon Burlingame will also be hosting an Academy ceremony taking place on Bond day, in order to commemorate the music of this decades old spy thriller. ~Brandon Bastaldo
