Adele to sing Skyfall theme song
It’s official: 24-year-old British soul songstress Adele will be signing the tune in the opening credits of Skyfall, the 23rd installment of the James Bond franchise, set to hit theaters November 9. This is a very special time for this super suave spy series because the first Bond film, Dr. No, premiered on October 5, 1962. With a few 90 second song samples already floating around the web, the announcement of the early release of Adele’s number on this Friday comes just in time to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of Bond proper. Speculations about the Grammy award winner’s involvement with Skyfall have been floating around ever since the diva hinted at the possibility of her working on an original song for the film in a 2011 interview. But it wasn’t until yesterday when Adele tweeted a photo of her black lacquered nails resting over the official Skyfall composition notes that fans and followers went wild with excitement at the singer’s confirmation. Singing the theme for Skyfall, to be produced by renowned British musician and producer Paul Epworth, Adele will join the ranks of artists like Duran Duran, Tina Turner and Madonna, who have become immortalized because their contribution to the series. ~Brandon Bastaldo
