Card playing, casinos and gambling in general have long since been a staple of the James Bond franchise, and they’ve never been more prevalent than in Daniel Craig‘s first appearance as the character, Martin Campbell‘s Casino Royale. As a result of that poker-centric film, producers behind the secret agent’s franchise reached out to a playing card company to establish a partnership: Belgium’s Carta Mundi. Now, Carta Mundi has announced they will be returning to the world of Bond for Sam Mendes‘ upcoming installment in the super spy franchise, Skyfall. “We are proud that we as a Belgian company may contribute to the success of the world famous Bond films,” says CEO Chris Van Doorslaer in a press release. “We are convinced that the image of Carta Mundi, and playing cards in general, will thus be strengthened. Poker still has a lot of success worldwide, and we believe this will be further boosted by the new Bond movie Skyfall.” The company will not only provide cards for the film, but also all of the poker chips seen throughout. In addition, Carta Mundi will be bringing an exclusive range of Skyfall playing cards and poker sets to the market in September. ~Devin Garabedian
