Although Daniel Craig, who has portrayed 007 spy James Bond in four movies, including the recent Spectre, said recently, ”I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists” after asking if he would do a fifth film, producers say they have no intention of replacing him.

He went on to say at the time that all he wanted to do was “move on,” but he backtracked a little bit later, claiming he “loves making these films.”

Barbara Broccoli, the daughter of original producer Albert “Cubby” Broccoli, and who is now a producer herself on the Bond films, told New York Magazine that ”we’re planning to hang on to Daniel as long as we can.”

She went on to explain that ”making a James Bond film is tough,” adding “the logistics are a grind but Sam Mendes was directing for a second time, and Léa Seydoux is absolutely mesmerizing as [Bond’s love interest] Dr. Madeline Swann. In a lot of ways, making the films is like what James experiences in Spectre: You’re put through your paces, but the result is tremendously exciting.”
