Sean Connery returns once again as the dynamic 007, this time on the trail of a diamond smuggler who leads him on a chase across the globe. Under guidance from M, Bond disguises himself as Peter Franks, a professional smuggler. But when the real Franks shows up, Bond finds a way to use him to help smuggle the diamonds from Amsterdam to Los Angeles. Little do the other smugglers in the ring know the diamonds Bond brought are actually fakes, having already passed the real ones on to the CIA.
Meanwhile, Bond jets off to glittery Las Vegas, where he meets billionaire Willard Whyte and Tiffany Case, who help him uncover SPECTRE’s plan to use the diamonds to create a laser satellite that will ultimately destroy nuclear weapons in countries like China and the Soviet Union, forcing nations to bid in an auction for global nuclear domination. With the help of his allies, Bond must stop SPECTRE mastermind, Ernst Blofeld, before the satellites obliterate the political state of the globe.
