Bond author Anthony Horowitz discusses Idris Elba as new 007

Novelist Anthony Horowitz has written a new book in the James Bond Saga, entitled Trigger Mortis: A James Bond Novel. He has voiced his concerns on who should be the next James Bond in the film world.

In a recent interview with The Daily Mail, he said Idris Elba, who’s been put forward as a possibility to take over the role once Daniel Craig is done, is “a bit too rough” to play 007. However, he insisted his comment wasn’t “a color issue.”

“I think he is probably a bit too street for Bond,” he said. “Is it a question of being suave? Yeah.”
